IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty June
Turner
July 1, 1928 – April 4, 2025
It is with both profound sadness yet inexplicable hope that we share the passing of Betty June Turner, age 96. Sadness, because to know Betty was to love Betty. Her faithful, fun and direct nature was best on display cooking for her large family, dancing to a new tune or beating her grandkids at Yahtzee. Yet in the midst of sadness, we have hope. A hope that comes from knowing Jesus, and Betty knew Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. So while we grieve and mourn her passing, we grieve as those whose eternal hope is in Jesus Christ, a God who heals the broken and claims victory over death.
Betty June Turner (or Memaw as known by her grandkids and great-grandkids) was born July 1, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Nola and PR Moslander. The middle of three children, she grew up in a close family attending church activities with her parents, crawdad fishing with her brothers, and dancing with her friends. After graduating from Capitol Hill High School, she started working as a Kelly girl in downtown Oklahoma City before finishing her career as a secretary at Phillips Petroleum. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother to her three children, and Memaw to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family will miss her consistent care, quick wit and teasing laughter, not to mention her cooking—she made the best tapioca pudding and deviled eggs bar none.
She is survived by her sons Craig Turner, Terry Turner, their wives, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Gayla Turner, as well as her parents and brothers.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for all the prayers, love and support received during this time.
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57
