Betty Jean Lee

July 2, 1932 ~ January 16, 2024

Betty Jean Lee went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the age of 91. The daughter of Norman Grandville Kimzey and Annie (McConnell) Kimzey, Betty was born on July 2, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up attending schools in the Oklahoma City area. She attended Heronville Elementary School, Capitol Hill Jr. High School and later graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1951. Shortly thereafter, Betty married Bill Henson in 1952 before later divorcing in 1956. They had a son, Terry Ray. While raising Terry as a single mom, Betty worked for many years at Tinker Air Force Base as a secretary in the Logistics Department, where in 1958 she met her true love, Jim Lee. They married shortly thereafter and Jim happily adopted Terry Ray as his son, while Betty loved Jim's daughter Linda as her own daughter. Jim and Betty were truly a team whether it was is was playing a round of golf together or working alongside each other as managers of the Glacier National Park or the Lake Stella Apartments. Jim and Betty were happily together and united as one for more than 45 years of marriage before his passing on April 26, 2003. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and step-mother who was also was a dedicated homemaker, Betty also enjoyed many jobs, hobbies and activities throughout her lifetime and travels. Betty was very passionate about painting and was an exceptionally skilled artist. She blessed many folks with her artwork throughout the years. A licensed pilot, Betty enjoyed her time flying and traveling. Some of their travels also included living in the Philippines while Jim worked for Tinker field. For many years, Betty also worked as a successful realtor. No matter what Betty did, nothing was as important as spending time with her family who she loved and cherished with all of her heart. Their wants and needs were at the fore front of all Betty did in life! Betty was known for her zest for living life to its fullest, for finding pleasure and enjoyment in the simple moments while enjoying God's beauty in creations using her God-given talents to bless and help others throughout her lifetime. Betty will be fondly remembered as a loving, compassionate, kind, generous, and thoughtful woman. She loved and cared deeply for her family and she will be held close to our hearts each day.
