Betty Jean Merrill, 89, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother passed away on May 1, 2023. She was born on September 10, 1933 in Newcastle, OK. At 16 she married the love of her life Bennie Lee Merrill at Tinker AFB Chapel and began her life as a military wife, living and moving to 21 places in the 30 years of Bennie's service. Not sure how you make every place a home, but she did that with grace. Upon retirement they made their home in Oklahoma City. She loved to entertain family and friends. She was the hostess with the mostest as they would say in those days. She had a great sense of style and she always looked so put together. We will miss her hugs and smiles. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ret. Maj. Bennie Lee Merrill, her parents Ollie and Audie Wood, her four brothers, Gene, Donald, Joe, and Walter and great grandson Joseph Merrill. She is survived by her daughter, Dianna Sutter and son, Dennis Merrill and wife Abby; Grandchildren, Paul Smith and wife Suzanne, Karen Aldridge and husband Billy, Chris Merrill, Thad Merrill and wife Erin, Thomas Merrill, and Sarah Crossno; Great Grandchildren, Dylan, Whitney, Garrett, Emma, Jordon, Weston, Everett, Sienna, Jacob, Judah, and Jericho; Great Great Grandchildren, Marceline, Elliot, and Demetri.
