Obituary

Elizabeth Albertina "Betty" Parrish October 17, 1933 – February 26, 2026

Elizabeth Albertina "Betty" Parrish passed away peacefully to be with Jesus on February 26, 2026. Born on October 17, 1933, in Hinton, Oklahoma, Betty was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Early in her life, Betty worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, a position she held until the birth of her first child, Kelvin. From that point on, she dedicated herself to her home and family. As a devoted homemaker, Betty was a constant presence in her children’s lives, serving as a homeroom mother for their classes and never missing a sporting event or school function. She also took great pride in her heritage, organizing the Falk family reunions for 25 years to ensure her extended family stayed connected.

On October 25, 1958, Betty married the love of her life, Jim Parrish. Together, they built a beautiful life and a devoted partnership that spanned over 67 years. For over 50 years, Betty and Jim were dedicated members of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, having been active participants since the church's very beginning.

Betty was a gifted gardener who always maintained a beautiful garden and found great joy in her many crafts, including painting, ceramics, and quilting. She used her talents to serve others, making untold numbers of small quilts, pillows, and blankets for a local community center to help those less fortunate. Betty also loved playing card games, sharing many happy hours around the table with her friends and the many friends she and Jim shared over the years.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Parrish. She is also survived by her three children and their spouses: Kelvin and Terri Parrish, Sheryl and Robert Willingham, and Beverly and Kent King.

She leaves behind six grandchildren and their spouses: Kelsey and Tucker Morris, Shelby and Klay Kloxin, Kirsten and Kevin McGehee, Chandler and Harlie King, Riley King, and Ryan Willingham. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Aiden Morris, Quinn Wakefield, Isaiah Kloxin, Paisley Morris, and Atlas King.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Southern Hills Baptist Church, located at 8601 S. Pennsylvania Ave in Oklahoma City. She will be laid to rest at Mustang Cemetery.
