Betty Whitaker, 93, passed away Thursday, August 17th, 2023 with her family by her side. She was welcomed into the home of her Lord and Savior and reunited with her dear husband Ray.

Betty was born in Oklahoma City on June 24, 1930 to Wesley and Susan Rollins. She was raised in South Oklahoma City along with her siblings Lucille, Velma, Ruby and Leroy.

In 1955, Betty met the love of her life, Ray Whitaker, and the two married April 27, 1956. They were blessed with a son, Kevin, and Betty thoroughly enjoyed being a wife and mother. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved her family dearly. Betty and Ray were longtime active members at Bethel Baptist Church in OKC for over 60 years. They loved serving the Lord together and made many fond memories with their church family. Betty also cooked for her church's campers at Falls Creek Youth Camp for over 30 years.

In her spare time, Betty enjoyed traveling well into her 80s with family and friends, baking, gardening, reading, bowling and puzzles. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A few things Betty will always be remembered for her faithfulness to the Lord, her willingness to help and serve others, her delicious pies and cakes, and her sweet tea.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Ray; parents, Wesley and Susan Rollins; siblings, Lucille, Velma, Ruby and Leroy.

Survivors include Son, Kevin Whitaker and his wife, Carolyn.  Grandchildren, Lindsay Whitaker, Ashley Beyer and husband Aaron; Great Grandchildren, Liza and Jude Keller as well as loving extended family and friends.
