Beverly Ann Gilmore went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the age of 78. She was born February 16, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to her parents Hugh Simmons & Edna Marie (Hemme) Simmons. She completed her high school education in Oklahoma City at U.S. Grant, and was a part of the graduating class of 1960. On June10, 1961 she married the love of her life Samuel Gilmore and the two spent nearly 60 years of marriage. After graduation she continued her education at Central State University where she earned a Master's degree in education. For many years, Beverly enjoyed working as a teacher with Francis Tuttle, where she helped her students find their skillset, and also encouraged them to pursue their careers. Beverly had the heart of a servant and enjoyed volunteering for numerous organizations. She was a volunteer with the Master Gardeners, (how did she volunteer?) and also with the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. Beverly was very passionate about her volunteer work, whether it was giving facility tours, answering phones, or assisting with events held at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. Aside from volunteering her time, she loved to travel with her nearest and dearest of family and friends. Beverly was a devoted & loving wife, mother, aunt, coworker, and friend who will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her, parents, Hugh & Edna Marie Simmons; her son, Dwayne Gilmore; and one brother, Wilford Wayne Simmons. Beverly is survived by her husband of 59 years, Samuel "Sam" Gilmore; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She also leaves behind a tremendous number of friends, coworkers & teachers from Francis Tuttle, as well as her fellow volunteers and the organization employees.
