Billy "Bill" Wesley Curry was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2016, in Decatur, Illinois, at the age of 91. He was born to Lee Clifford and Clara Marie Johnson Curry on September 15, 1924 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. When he was young, Bill's family moved to Oklahoma City where he graduated from Capitol Hill High School. After graduation, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. On August 26, 1946, Bill married the love of his life, Donna Louise Brown. After serving in the Korean Conflict, Bill graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Bill worked as an accountant for oil and gas companies in Oklahoma City and sold investments. When Bill wasn't working, you could find him enjoying sports or working on his well-manicured lawn. He was a longtime supporter of OU, MACU, Shartel Church of God softball, and Thunder Athletics. He had a heart for serving the Lord and people. An active member of Shartel Church of God since 1956, Bill loved his church family and served faithfully. An adoring husband to his wife Donna for over 55 years, Bill missed her each day since her passing in 2001. Bill was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who left an impact on those he encountered and a legacy for others to follow. He was kind-hearted, gentle, loving, and forgiving, exemplifying a Christ-like spirit in all his dealings.


Bill is enjoying the presence of his Heavenly Father and is now reunited with his:
Parents;
Wife of more than 55 years, Donna Curry;
Sister, Helen Baker.

Son, Michael Curry and his wife, Susan of Plano, Texas;
Daughter, Cheryl McNeely and her husband, Jim, of Decatur, Illinois;
Daughter, Susan Truitt of Jonesborough, Tennessee;
Sisters: Kay Carter and Barbara Epperson;
7 Grandchildren: Matthew and Seema Curry, Zach and Chelsi Curry, Rachel Curry, Nick McNeely and Tori Stockwell, Luke McNeely, Tyler Truitt, Cody & Ashley Truitt;
10 Great-Grandchildren: Jaden, Blake, Cole, Cade, Shay and Nash Curry, Zak Truitt, Mason and Roma Truitt, and Lucy McNeely.
