Obituary

Bobby was a life-long bachelor born in Oklahoma City, Ok on May 17, 1953 and earned his heavenly reward on August 5, 2021 at the age of 68.

Bob enjoyed a happy childhood in south Oklahoma City riding his bike, playing with his brothers and sister and his little dog Blackie Joe. He attended Columbus Elementary, Jackson Jr. High and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1971.

His teen years were busy with school and working at Coit's Root Beer Stand in the evenings, weekends and the summer months. Bob started working as a carhop for 20 cents an hour (plus tips!) for Don Coit. He would go on to receive a large promotion to mug washer at 65 cents an hour and finally on to a "top position" as fry cook.

Immediately after graduation, Bob enlisted in the USAF. He was proud to do his duty as a sergeant during the Vietnam War working as a mechanic on the C-141 and C-5 Galaxy aircraft at Altus Air Force Base. Upon discharge, he enrolled at Oklahoma City Community College earning his associate degree in business on the GI Bill.

After college Bob went to work at Tinker Air Force Base working as a B-52 mechanic and Maintenance Duty Officer completing 32 years of federal service in 2008.

Bob enjoyed 13 years of retirement. He lived quietly and enjoyed old-time rock and roll, old movies including Elvis Presley, old cars including his beloved red and white 1979 Lincoln Continental. Occasionally, he also liked having a beer and cigar out on the patio.

Like many "average" Americans today working hard, paying taxes and raising families, Bob stood proud and never complained. It is people like Bobby whose fine character, honesty and strong work ethic enriches the fabric of our country and strengthens the foundation of this nation.

So, brother we say our last goodbye, we loved you and we will miss you!

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Oleta Brown. Left to mourn his passing is his sister Shirley Snyder, and husband J.L and family. Brother Roy Brown and wife Kim and family; Brother Ronald Brown and wife Pam.

A private family funeral will be a Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, South Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be held at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah, Oklahoma
