Bobby "Bob" R. Ewing
Bob Ewing passed from this life on Sunday, June 20, 2010. He was born on Feb. 21, 1938 in Oklahoma City to Robert and Bernice Ewing, Bob was raised by his mother and "Dad" Alvin Jones. He graduated from Northeast High School & attended Central State College. He worked in the wholesale electrical business, restaurant business and repair & maintenance. Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves. In 1960, Bob met Kay Wright. They married on December 8, 1968. They had 2 children, Paula and Christopher. Bob was a handy man and could fix, build or repair most anything. He loved sharing his talents with others. After retiring in 2002, Bob volunteered at Skyline Urban Ministries, The HUGS Project and other "honey-do" projects Kay would get him involved in. He loved spending time at their cabin on Lake Eufaula and visiting South Padre Island. And. .. he was a great cookie baker. . . Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Martin Ewing. He is survived by the love of his life, Kay; daughter Paula Abrams & her husband David of Yukon; son Christopher and daughter-in-law "to-be" Deb Gaukler of Tempe, AZ; granddaughter's Carrie Elizabeth and Janie Nicole Abrams; brother Jerry Jones and family of Katy TX; brother Lyn Ewing; and several "in-laws", nieces & nephews & a host of family, friends & neighbors. Viewing will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Vondel Smith Mortuary on North MacArthur. Services will be at2:00 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church of the Servant with graveside services at 7.30 p.m. at Bethany Cemetery NW 63rd and Rockwell.
