Branko Zec passed away in Oklahoma City on May 8, 2021 after a brief illness. Branko was born in Bosanski Petrovac on May 9, 1957 to Djukan and Milka Zec. Branko grew up in the town of Kulen Vakuf in Bosnia alongside his sister, Radojka. As a young boy, he enjoyed playing soccer with his friends, fishing, and taking care of his mother and sister. To support his family, right after high school, he went to work on the road building bridges in Krk, Croatia. He used this time to travel and make friends. Soon after, he became a train engineer. In 1981 he married Edina Demirovic. They were blessed with two children, Dejan and Dijana. Branko was a family man and worked hard to provide a good life for them. Even though times were hard during the war, he was always able and willing to help his friends and neighbors. In 2000, they moved to the United States. Living the American dream, he drove his truck from coast to coast. Life as a truck driver is not easy but he made the best of it. He visited friends and family along the way. He juiced, ate salads, and made desserts in his truck and talked about writing a book about healthy living. In 2010 he started his own business, Green River Express Inc. He and his son teamed up and employed several people. On the rare occasion when Branko wasn't working he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Branko's five grandchildren brought him great joy. He loved spending time with them and teaching them to eat mint leaves and dandelions from his garden. Branko will be greatly missed by family and friends.
