Brenda Gay Owens, a lifetime resident of Oklahoma City, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the age of 59. Brenda was born October 6, 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Everett and Pat Owens. Brenda graduated from Western Heights High School in 1982 and still is great friends with some of her fellow Jet classmates. Brenda worked many years as a domestic caretaker and found many long-lasting friendships during this time. Brenda found so much happiness being with her family. She rarely ever missed a birthday, shower, or graduation. She loved her family very much, but the ultimate love of her life was her one and only grandson Rhett. He was her everything. After her diagnosis with cancer, Brenda would say Rhett was her reason for fighting to live. Brenda was a 9-year survivor of brain cancer. She beat so many odds and did it with grace. She will now be reunited with her parents.

Her memory will be lovingly cherished by those who survive her:

Services to celebrate Brenda's life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday July 27th, 2023 at the South Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S Western Ave, OKC, OK 73139, with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wheatland, OK located at SW 59th and S. Council Road.
