Obituary

Brian Craig Ossenkop, 45, passed away June 15 with his daily devotional in his pocket. Brian was born to Mike and Teresa Ossenkop on August 28, 1976 in Oklahoma City, OK. Brian graduated from Moore High School in 1994. After graduation, he attended OCCC and received an Associate of Science degree. He passed his EMT certification but decided that wasn't for him. Brian started working in the food service industry which eventually grew into a sales position with Sysco Foods. During this time, he met a young lady named Devon Hickey and on April 27, 1999 they had a son named Gavin. Brian held many different jobs throughout his lifetime as he worked to refine his passion and interests. Brian was a natural salesman who never met a stranger. He loved people and created long lasting relationships with those who saw his gentle compassionate nature, fun personality, free spirt, smile, humor and laughter. He had a great way of making people feel comfortable and easily made friends. His inner circle called him Ozzie. Brian excelled at baseball and golf. He grew up on the baseball field and played for the Moore Lions during high school. Giving up the bat for clubs, he once played in the open division of the Oklahoma Open. Brian loved playing and watching sports of all kinds. Through the years, there were countless games of catch with his dad and brother, flag football in the front yard with everyone in the neighborhood, beach volleyball and pickup baseball with his friends, many softball games, and hundreds of rounds of golf with anyone who wanted to get beat. Brian especially enjoyed watching Gavin play sports following him to baseball games, golf tournaments, and disc golf events. They enjoyed watching the Sooners, Thunder, and Yankees games together. Brian had a passion for music and was a self-taught guitarist and singer. Brian wrote and performed his own music along with his favorite cover songs. He played at numerous locations throughout the Oklahoma City metro area. Brian will be greatly missed. His salvation gives us great comfort.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orville and Dorothy Kennedy and Ozzie and Wanda Ossenkop; and sister-in-law, Tracey Ossenkop. He is survived by his son Gavin Ossenkop; his father Mike Ossenkop and wife Debbie; his mother Teresa Ossenkop; brother Todd Ossenkop, and his 3 children; as well as many other extended family members.
