Calesta Young, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Calesta was born February 24, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Roy and Lena Harrison.

Calesta loved animals. Her current fur baby is a terrier mix, named Jake. She was raised on a farm outside a small town, Texola, with a population of about 40 people. She loved the horses, cattle and chickens she cared for. During her school years she enjoyed playing basketball at a neighboring town of Erick.

Sixty two years ago, she met the love of her life, Jim, on a blind date in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. They built a life together. While Jim served his country, Calesta continued her education to achieve multiple degrees, including her MBA. She shared her knowledge as an educator at schools throughout Oklahoma City including, Living Word Academy, Cassidy, Crooked Oak and Rosary Catholic School.

Calesta enjoyed teaching and creating art. Painting, sculpting, pottery and jewelry – making were among her talents.

Calesta's family will remember her as a gifted person who loved her church, family and pets.
