Viewing & visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday, June 16, 2021 with a Rosary starting at 7 PM, in the Vondel Smith Mortuary South Colonial Chapel, 6934 S. Western Ave. Oklahoma City, OK.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Thursday, June 17, 2021 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 4201 S. McKinley Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK with burial to follow at the Moore City Cemetery, 800 SW 4th St, Moore, OK.
Carl Ray Harris, 61, of Oklahoma City passed away June 12, 2021. Born September 7, 1959 in Oklahoma City to Carl and Minnie Harris. Growing up, Carl shared his childhood with five loving and doting sisters. He attended Southeast High School and was a graduate of the class of 1977. After graduation, Carl entered Saint Gregory's Abbey as a novitate and student. While at Saint Gregory's Abbey, Carl expanded his knowledge of faith, strengthened devotion to God, and earned his degree. After many years of monastic life, he returned to his hometown and family. Carl continued to be an ever faithful servant of God and was an active parishioner at Saint James Catholic church. There, he served as Eucharistic minister, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served as sponsor and godfather to many. Carl enjoyed his many years of employment at Alliance Steel as a draftsman. Carl is preceded in death by his father, Carl Harris, mother, Minnie Harris, and nephews Michael Pruitt and Baby Wilkeson. He is survived by his sisters and their spouses, Carol and Rick England, Carla Romeo, Micki Wilkeson, Susie and Tommy Zaragosa, and Renee and Jim Daxon; his aunts, Jo Miller, and Connie Arevalos and uncle, Jesse Arevalos; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. Carl's humble nature, quiet strength, and steadfast faith will always be remembered. His presence will be deeply missed.
