Carol Sue (Johnson) Anderson passed away in her sleep at her home surrounded by family on July 2, 2022. She was born in Oklahoma City on October 19, 1933 to H.P. (Johnnie) and Grace M. Johnson, spending her childhood years attending Jefferson Grade School and graduating from "Old" Classen High School in 1951. Carol then enrolled in Monticello Girls College in Alton, Ill., transferring in 1953 to the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1955 with a degree in Education. While attending OU she became a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and met Harry, the love of her life, marrying in 1955. In 1956 they welcomed a daughter Cherie, and in 1959 they welcomed a son, Mike. Carol was active in the Covenant Presbyterian Church and as a Gamma Phi Beta Alum. She is preceded in death by her father and mother. Carol leaves behind her loving husband, Harry, daughter Cherie Harris and husband Marshall, of Hobart, OK; son Mike and wife Sam, of Oklahoma City, OK; brother John Johnson and wife Diana, of Castlerock, CO; grandson Zac Harris and wife Amy, of Hobart; granddaughter Audra Heasley and husband Matt, of Oklahoma City, grandson Scott Harris and wife Meagan, of Hobart, and great-grandchildren Rylan, Kenda and Trale', also of Hobart. Private graveside arrangements are being handled by Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to Alzheimer's or Dementia research or your favorite food bank.
