Carol Ann (Migdat) Elder was born to John Joseph Migdat and Ann Mary (Brasewicz) Migdat as their oldest child, in Chicago Illinois on September 14, 1952. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 5, 2016. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1970 and continued her education at the University of Oklahoma earning a bachelors in Nursing. She became a registered nurse and worked at St. Anthony Hospital then Visiting Nurses and later at South Community Hospital (later becoming Integris Southwest) where she worked as an Oncology Nurse for over 30 years. She married Joseph Warren Elder on October 14, 1978 and they had two children: John, in 1982 and Rachel, in 1988. Throughout her life, Carol devoted herself unselfishly not only as a wife and daughter, but to her children as well often going above and beyond what was needed to be done. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader and Campfire Leader for both John and Rachel. Later in life Carol was called to volunteer her nursing skills to Birth Choice of Oklahoma, providing limited OB ultrasounds. Carol and Joe were active members of St. James Catholic Church, especially volunteering with St. James Gold House. Carol never wavered in her faith, as her and Joe traveled the world exploring their faith together traveling to Rome, Italy in 2014 and to Lourdes, France and Spain, in 2015. Although she loved travel, Carol found joy taking trips to the family farm, and playing with her grandson Warren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents John and Ann. She is survived by her husband Joe of Oklahoma City, her son John and wife Amanda Elder of Sand Springs, OK. Daughter Rachel and husband Daniel Kamler of Edmond, Oklahoma. Her sister and brother-in-law Judy and Karl Holdcraft of El Reno OK.
