IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Ann
Caldwell
August 21, 1950 – March 20, 2024
Carolyn Ann (Ryker) Caldwell was born August 21, 1950, in Big Spring, Texas. She was the youngest of six children born to Raymond and Kathryn (Simpson) Ryker. Carolyn departed this life surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 20th in Oklahoma City at the age of 73.
Carolyn moved to Oklahoma City at the age of five. Carolyn came to know her Lord and Savior in 1963, at the age of 13. She was a 1968 graduate of Capitol Hill High School. Carolyn married Lloyd Caldwell on July 3, 1970. They were blessed with three children.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers Nelson Ryker, Nathan Ryker, and Breck Ryker.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lloyd Caldwell, her sons Aaron Caldwell of Oklahoma City, OK, Joshua Caldwell of Norman, OK and daughter Danielle Mueller and her husband Brad of Tulsa, OK; her four beloved granddaughters Madeline Mueller (21), Macy Mueller (17), Hallie Mueller (12) and Lyric Caldwell (15); her two sisters Marilyn Conner and Mary Melvin; her beloved golden retriever, Sadie and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Carolyn spent over 30 years in the mortgage banking business before retiring in 2009. During her time working in the mortgage industry she served on the boards of the Southwest Homebuilders Association and the Central Homebuilders Association.
Carolyn was an avid reader and could always be found with a book or her kindle in her hand. Carolyn was a wonderful cook and loved hosting her family and friends for meals. Carolyn loved to travel but her favorite place was the lake on the weekend or sometimes for the whole week. She loved to go fishing, boating, and jet skiing with her family. The family often joked they ate better at the lake than at home. Carolyn loved watching her kids and eventually her grandgirls participate in their many sporting events. Carolyn was a very proud Nana and loved to share stories with anyone who would listen about her grandgirls.
Carolyn will be remembered for her kind and warm heart. She will be deeply missed but her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
The family wishes to thank her many caregivers over the last year, her son Aaron and especially her sister Mary who put her life on pause to truly help care for Carolyn these last three months.
