Carroll Eleanor Neben was born on August 8,1936, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to the Rev. Edward and Emma (Schmidt) Neben. She was baptized by her father on September 6, 1936, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Rochfort Bridge, Alberta, Canada.
Carroll renewed her baptismal vows in the rite of confirmation on July 16, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church, Crookston, Nebraska.
She became a church organist at the age of 15 and played for church services for fifty-five years.
Carroll received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Chadron State college in 1959 and her Master’s Degree in Reading Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1975. She was a teacher for 35 years in elementary schools, Lutheran Schools, and in high schools.
Carroll was united in marriage to George Dinse on May 29, 1960, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Point, NE. To this union three children were born: Ronald George, Douglas John, and Debra Gail.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Douglas, brother-in-law Gordon Waterman, two nieces, Linda and Kathy Waterman, and nephew David Martensen. Survivors include her husband, George; son Ronald (Susan) of Duncan, OK, daughter Debra (Mike) Kellum of Oklahoma City; daughter in-law Robynn Dinse of Crescent, OK; granddaughter Jennifer (Daniel) Andary of Yukon, OK; grandsons Brandon (Kaitlyn) Buchanan of Newcastle, OK; Curtis Buchanan of Ada, OK; Peyton (KaiAnn) Buchanan of Perkins, OK; Will Kellum of Oklahoma City; and seven great-grandchildren (Hannah, Kate and Caulder Andary; Beau, Hudson, Emerson and Rhett Buchanan).
Also surviving are one brother, Ronald (Sharon) Neben of Ft. Worth, TX; and sisters Arlene Waterman, Tomball, TX; Marilyn Dowell, Grapevine, TX; and Judi (Les) Korte, Hallam, NE; nieces and nephews.
Visitation is on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary at South Lakes, 4000 SW 119th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73173
Services are to be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 700 N Air Depot Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73110.
