Obituary

Chad made his unexpected and much-too-soon exit from us on the evening of April 1st, 2021. Just 32 years and 11 days earlier on March 20th, 1989, Ricky and Julie (Jones) Hyde welcomed their blue-eyed baby boy to the world. Chad joined older brother Kevin, who was undoubtedly his life counterpart. A gifted student, talented athlete, and stubborn competitor, Chad excelled in academics and athletics from an early age. He graduated from Westmoore High School in 2007 at the top of his class and was named MVP of the Jaguar baseball team. Although Chad had multiple colleges offering baseball scholarships, he chose to accept a full academic scholarship to his dream school, the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. Combining his mental aptitude and physical abilities with his kind heart and fearless nature, Chad made his childhood dream career a reality when he became a member of the fire service. Starting on the Newcastle Fire Department in 2016, Chad began his career in public service. A short time later, he earned a position on the Oklahoma City Fire Department, finding his home at Station 8 on the red shift and eventually moving with his crew to Station 6. It was the honor of his life to be a part of this elite group, with his station serving as the city's technical rescue team. The relationships he had with his colleagues were more than professional. It was a brotherhood in which Chad found strength, support, and purpose. The academic scholarship, MVP honors, dream job, and countless friends all vastly paled in comparison to his greatest achievement which occurred at 15 years old when he talked Brittany Jackson into being his girlfriend. True soulmates married in 2011, their love brought Chad's greatest joy into this world - Emery Lucile and Everett Jack. Nothing made him smile like his babies. He loved every part of being their dad. Words cannot adequately portray how amazing Chad was as a person or how much he was loved and will be missed by those who knew him. Chad was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Lynnville D. (Jack) Jones and Dorothy Jones (Arnett) and paternal grandfather Joe Hyde. Chad leaves behind his Wife, Brittany and children Emery Lucile and Everett Jack; Mother, Julie Hyde; Father, Ricky Hyde; Brother, Kevin Hyde and wife Lyndsey; As well as numerous cousins, many extended loving family members and countless friends
