Charles "Chuck" Edward Hamrick was born January 5, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio the son of Chester Raymond and Cecelia Frances (Chudzinski) Hamrick. He completed this life on Monday, October 10, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 93.
Chuck was raised in Ohio where he graduated from high school. He entered the Air Force in 1948 proudly serving our country for 20 years retiring in 1968 with the rank of Major. He served in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War receiving a purple heart for injuries received in battle. He was a helicopter pilot. He retired in 1968 moving his family to Bethany, Oklahoma. Chuck then began another career with the U.S. Postal service as a letter carrier where he retired after 20 years.
While a cadet at Vance Air Force Base Chuck met Virginia "Jenny" Lee Davis. They were married on July 1, 1950 in Ohio.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Edward Hamrick; and his sister, Marcie Gaul.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jenny; his daughter, Brenda Lucero and her husband Howard; his grandchildren, Michael Hamrick, Jaime Holdcraft, Valarie Lucero, Michelle Davis and Andre Lucero; his great grandchildren, Eliyahu Holdcraft, Gabriel Holdcraft, Haley Nail, Mei Lee Hamrick, Addison Davis, Mason Lucero and Landon Lucero.
Viewing will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, at Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd. Graveside service with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17th in Resurrection Cemetery, 7800 Northwest Expressway.
