Burial of cremains will be 4:00 PM Monday, June 24, 2024 at New Home Cemetery, Dover, Oklahoma
Charles Oklen Lewis, 90 passed from this life Tuesday June 11, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born August 26, 1933 the son of Kenneth Charles and Dorlious M (Moyer) Lewis. After graduating high school at Capitol Hill High School, Charles worked for a short time at Tinker AFB, and then selling Insurance with his father in New Mexico, finally as a salesman and then store Manager for Baker's Shoes downtown Oklahoma City, then Penn Square and Crossroads Mall, then back to Penn Square where he retired in 1995 after 42 years. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a founding member of the Southwest Optimist Club so his boys could play little league football. Charles Married Maytha Louise Glazier and together they raised 3 children, Richard, Michael, and Patricia. He and Maytha enjoyed traveling and camping. They worked as camp hosts for Sugarite State Park in New Mexico. Charles was an active member of Graceway Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maytha Louise; and 3 half-sisters, Christine Easley, Wanda Lane, and Shirley Zink. He cherished memories with his sons, Richard Lewis and wife Beverly, and Michael D. Lewis and wife Helen; daughter Patricia Seitz; brother, Joe Don Lewis and wife Coleta; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jennifer, Sara, Amanda and Amy. 11 great grandchildren, Mackinzie, Mackinlie, Blake, Maddie, Emma, Becca, Gus, Sam, Porter, Mason, and Colton and many other loved ones and friends.
