IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clarence Duane
Williams
January 16, 1935 – June 20, 2025
Duane Williams, 90, of Oklahoma City passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at Norman Veterans Center with his beloved wife, Barbara, at his side. Duane was born on January 16th, 1935 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to C.H. and Pauline Williams. A few years after Duane was born, his family moved to Guthrie. Duane attended Guthrie High School and completed his high school years at Southwestern Bible College. Duane later served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard and he was honorably discharged in 1963.
Duane worked for Oklahoma Tank Lines for over 35 years as a fuel delivery driver, and before that, worked for H.J. Jeffries as a cross-country truck driver. For many years, Duane was the terminal manager for C&A Trucking in Oklahoma City. From 2005 through 2016, Duane worked as a Regional Manager to expand operations for United Petroleum Transports in both the Albuquerque and Phoenix areas. In retirement, he worked as an Uber driver 2016-2018, a funeral attendant, and manned the guard shack at his gated community. In his spare time, Duane enjoyed playing golf, watching OU football, and swing dancing with his wife Barbara. Spending time with family was at the top of Duane's list. His most unforgettable memories were made with his family. Some of his favorites were the annual family reunions and yearly trips to New Mexico, the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. As a preacher's kid, Duane could be a bit ornery and somewhat of a prankster, but will always be remembered for having a big heart, being honest and trustworthy, and having a strong work ethic.
Duane was preceded in death by his father, Rev. C.H. Williams, his mother, Pauline (Baum) Lindsley, brother, Johnny Williams, and sisters, Anita Allison, Mary Joyce Cue, & Gail Temple; and his granddaughter Charlotte Elizabeth Largess.
Duane is survived by his loving companion of 35 years, Barbara Williams, her daughter Gina Myer-Fuget (Scott) & son Joe Meyer (Lorrie). He is remembered lovingly by his first wife, JoBeth Williams; sons Greg & John Williams; daughters Kelly Cromwell (Mike) and Jennifer Lawson (Gary). Grandchildren Sam & Henry Williams, Kim & Maggie Largess, Kaylee Burris (Jack), Mason Cromwell (Kayla), Wyatt Lawson, Cieara Myer (Eli Hartley), Jakob Meyer (Arie), Lindsey Givens (Cory), Carly Thomas (Eddie), & Regan Fuget. Great grandchildren Scarlet, Bennett, Tallulah, Aiden, Asa, Livvy, Naelle, Amryn & Rylen, as well as many extended loving family members & countless friends.
