Cleo Laughlin Emerson passed from this earth on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Clare Bridge Assisted Living Center in Oklahoma City. She was 97 years old. Cleo was born May 31, 1913 in Ada, Oklahoma to her parents, James Irwin and Georgie (Simpkins) Laughlin. She graduated from East Central Teachers College at Ada and married Haskell Bryan Emerson, Sr. in 1937. She briefly taught school at Atwood, Oklahoma while Haskell honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II before moving to Seminole, Oklahoma where they raised a family. Both Haskell and Cleo worked for Bethlehem Steel. In 1951, they were transferred to Oklahoma City and retired there. Cleo was an avid reader, liked Indian Art and Van Gogh. She was a very talented weaver and spun thread to weave. She won several 1st place metals at the Oklahoma State Fair. She was a member of the Weavers Guild of Oklahoma. Cleo was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Cleo will be deeply missed.

Parents;
Husband, Haskell B. Emerson, Sr;
Son, Haskell "Bryan" Emerson, Jr;
Siblings: Mildred, Charles and Bill Laughlin, Eveline Eppler and Wilma Turner.

She is survived by her:
Daughter, Millie Beth Murray;
7 Grandchildren: Mike Murray, Melanie D'Silva, Nathan, Sam, Aaron and Eric Gorall and Alex Emerson
