Obituary

Cleta Bell Phillips, 98, joined her Heavenly Father and was welcomed by a host of family awaiting her arrival in Heaven on July 31, 2024.

Cleta was born in Dallas, Texas on January 9, 1926 to William Calvin & Susie Isabell (McDaniel) Curtis. In 1928 the Curtis family composed of her parents, 9 children, (7 boys and 2 girls), journeyed from their home in the Dallas, Texas area to settle on a farm near Marlow, Oklahoma in a community east of Marlow known as Four Mile where they were raised and attended the local school.

Cleta married Roy Lee Phillips on December 16, 1941; they celebrated 69 years together until Roy's death on December 19, 2010.

Cleta supported & worked alongside Roy in various Pastorates, together they served numerous churches in Oklahoma & Kansas in their 17 year ministry. Cleta worked for the National Biscuit Company from 1947-1948, in 1981 she began working for International Crystal Manufacturing, in the Radio & Electronics Production Department, retiring in 1990, a short time after this she started working for her niece at "Country Pies" preparing, baking & providing counter and table side service for the customers.

Cleta was a longtime member of the Church of God & had been an active member of Shartel Church of God for many years serving in various ministries of the church during her life, nothing brought Cleta more joy than being with her family, she could always be counted provide home cooked meals for the family, further she knew everyone's favorite dish and would always make a special effort to prepare these.

Cleta will always be remembered for her steadfast faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, her unwavering love & support of her husband Roy, her children, grandchildren & her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy Lee Phillips, Infant daughter Carolyn Sue Phillips, granddaughter Tina Lee Werner and Great granddaughter Sherry Nicole Werner; Seven brothers; Roy, Earnest, Arden, Lester, William "Bill" James & John "Bodie" Curtis and one sister; Ruby Owens

She is survived by her daughter Sherry L. Werner & her husband Russell; son Reverend Bill Phillips & his wife Jenny

4 Grandchildren Tonya Werner, Angeleta Rodrigues, Jaime Phillips and Robin Phillips
