Cody Warner, a vibrant and deeply loved soul, passed from this world far too soon on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Grass Range, Montana. Just 29 years old, Cody leaves behind an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Born in Aurora, Illinois, on June 30, 1996, Cody was the beloved son of James Warner and Jennifer Nauert. He was raised in Sheridan, Illinois, where his passion for life and his gift for mechanics began to shine from a young age. Whether he was taking apart engines just to see how they worked, volunteering with the Sheridan Fire Department, or simply making others laugh with his extremely quick wit, Cody lived every moment with intention and heart.

Cody graduated from Serena High School in 2015, remembered not only for his mechanical talents but also for his spirited energy and enthusiasm for life. He had quite the knack for raising a little hell, as he would say, and a talent for sharpshooting, archery, and diesel mechanics — a skill he would turn into a career and calling.

After high school, Cody pursued his passion with unwavering determination, becoming an expert in his craft. Though he often joked about his "love-hate relationship" with diesel engines, his dedication never wavered. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Foreman at Kiewit Corporation since 2019, Cody became known as a true master of the trade — respected, trusted, and admired.

In 2018, Cody moved to Oklahoma to work in the oilfield. Cody's life changed forever when he met the love of his life, Amber Ashby, during a night out in Norman, Oklahoma. Their connection was instant and undeniable. They married on September 18, 2021, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, and built a life together in Wanette, filled with love, laughter, and their three beloved dogs. To know Cody was to know how deeply he loved those dogs — a true "dog whisperer" and the best dog dad anyone could imagine.

Cody and Amber found joy in family, friends, and travel. Their shared sanctuary was the mountains of Montana, where Cody felt most alive amidst nature, whether sightseeing in Glacier National Park, riding the trails in the little snowy mountains, or simply breathing in the mountain air and beauty.

Cody was a true outdoorsman, finding joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved having a beer, "yellow belly" as he calls it, with friends, having long phone calls with family on his drives back home to Oklahoma, and tearing through backroads or riding the river in his side-by-side. Always with a grin and a story, he enjoyed fixing things (or just taking them apart for fun), playing cornhole, and bowling strikes. He was fiercely proud of his work on Caterpillar equipment, often stating, "If it ain't yellow and black, I don't want it."

Cody's presence was unforgettable. His thick country accent, his trademark jeans and boots, the pair of pliers on his hip, you never saw him without — these were just a few of the many things that made him uniquely Cody. His intelligence, humor, and kindness were unmatched. He was the kind of person who made you feel at home, who could fix anything, and who always showed up when you needed him.

Above all, Cody was a man of heart — a devoted husband, a loving son, a loyal friend, and a rare soul who made life brighter for everyone around him. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made is lasting. His spirit will live on in every engine he brought back to life, every trail he blazed, and every memory shared by those who knew him.

Cody will be missed more than words can say. But his laughter, his love, and the life he built will forever remain in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to walk alongside him
