IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie LaRue
Rogers
July 23, 1959 – February 14, 2026
Connie LaRue Shannon Rogers, age 66, passed peacefully from this earth on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Connie was born on July 23, 1959, in Prague, Oklahoma to Christine and Lloyd; She graduated from Mason High School in 1977 and married her husband, Galen Rogers, in 1981. Together they built a home in Welty, Oklahoma where they shared many happy years.
In November 1999, Connie gave birth to her daughter Faith Cheyenne Rogers. Becoming a mother was one of Connie’s greatest joys and proudest accomplishments. Faith was the center of her life and the source of her deepest happiness. Connie devoted herself to raising her daughter with unconditional love, guidance, and strength, creating a bond that will endure forever.
A dedicated educator, Connie, served as a teacher at Mason High School from 2005 to 2026. She was deeply loved and respected by her students, colleagues, and the community she served. Connie’s classroom was a place of encouragement, patience, and kindness, and she left a lasting impression on countless young lives.
Connie’s life was defined by her strength, warmth, and unconditional love. She had a deep appreciation for nature and found peace outdoors, especially in caring for the hummingbirds she adored. Known affectionately as the “hummingbird whisperer,” Connie created a sanctuary that seemed to welcome every hummingbird in Oklahoma. Watching them brought her endless joy and reflected her gentle, nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her mother, Christine Fox Shannon; her husband, Galen Rogers; her cherished daughter, Faith Cheyenne Rogers, her brother Neal; her nephews, Dillon Magness, Cody Sayers, Zachary Taylor, and Leif Shannopn; and her beloved pets, Remi, Dally, and Blacky.
Connie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lois; her father, Lloyed; her sister, Amelia; and her brother, Ricky.
Connie will be remembered for her compassion, resilience, and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, students, and all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched and in every hummingbird that visits.
Connie will have a private graveside service with her immediate family.
