IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie Sue
Woodson
June 8, 1948 – September 30, 2025
Connie Sue Woodson was born to Neal and Ruby Henderson on June 8, 1948, in Alva, Oklahoma. After graduating from Alva High School in 1966, she married Paul D. Woodson, son of L.D. "Woody" and Ruth Woodson, on November 4, 1966, beginning a lifelong partnership of 58 years. Their early years together took them through Paul's military service, and they later made their home in Norman, where they lovingly raised their four daughters.
Connie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who also pursued education and work outside the home. In May 1996, she proudly completed her Bachelor of Education degree from East Central University. Over the years, she worked in many roles to help support her family, including administrative assistant at the University of Oklahoma, legal secretary, physician's office manager, substitute elementary teacher, and retail manager.
Creative and hardworking, Connie was also a talented seamstress and interior decorator. Most of all, she was the constant center of her family; Mom and "Grammy/Meme" who was always present for her daughters, 13 grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She loved hosting holidays, birthdays, and special gatherings, cooking delicious meals, and making
sure every detail was perfect when her family was together.
She is survived by her husband Paul Woodson, and her four daughters and their families: Tamara Leon and husband Tony of Enid, along with their children Morgan Simo, Tanner (Avery) Leon, and Carson (James) Castleman; Shana Covalt and husband Geoff of Kingfisher, along with their children Reagan (Layne) Graham, Cooper, and Cade Covalt; Ashley Danner of Oklahoma City, along with her children Alex, Brayden, Grayson, and Jackson Danner; and Angela Woodson of Norman, along with her
children Remington, Gallagher, and Addilynne Davis, as well as her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, Neal Henderson, and siblings, Rita Cook and Jim Henderson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to OK Kids Korral (Oklahoma City), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Children's Hospital, or another health-care related organization of your choice.
