IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia Ann
Turk
August 8, 1955 – October 21, 2023
Cynthia Ann Turk
August 8, 1955 - October 21, 2023
After a lengthy illness, Cynthia Ann Turk of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on October 21, 2023, at the age of 68. Born on August 8, 1955, in Sherman, Texas, she was the daughter of Vera Parker and Burld "Shorty" West. Cynthia attended and graduated from Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Oklahoma and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Cindy spent her working years as an accountant with Fuller and Fuller and later with Michael Dallman, Inc. She loved her work and those around her.
Along her journey, Cindy met the love of her life, Jimmie Dean Turk. The two were married on August 31, 1996. Cindy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and found great joy in watching anything her grandkids were doing. She was widely known to be a bit "ornery" and had one of the greatest senses of humor known to her family. She was smart as a whip and sharp as a tack and, at times, stubborn as a mule. Additionally, she loved watching crime shows on TV and she was a whiz at solving puzzles on "Wheel of Fortune." She loved the Halloween season and receiving pictures of her grandchildren dressed up in their Halloween costumes along with getting visits from all the neighborhood kids stopping by in their costumes. She was a great cook and enjoyed having guests over and she even hosted a few tea parties for her "extra" grandkids that lived across the street.
Most widely known by all who knew her best was her passion for collecting unicorns. Pictures and ceramic unicorns were, and still are, displayed throughout her home. She didn't just love them, she exemplified the representation of the unicorn in her daily life as she was a gentle soul who deeply understood the world around her. Also, since childhood, she loved the story of "Winnie the Pooh" with Eeyore being her most beloved character. Though Eeyore was written as the "ornery" of the characters of Winnie the Pooh, he also taught the most joyful of lessons to all who would listen. He, along with Cindy, understood that being poor teaches us to appreciate more; having our hearts broken, teaches us to love faithfully; struggle and failure magnifies our victories, and adopting a melancholy spirit in life, subtly highlights the joys of life."
