July 9, 1939 – February 16, 2025
Darryl Don May
July 9-1939 ~ February 16, 2025
Darryl Don May went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the age of 85. The son of Memory Brice May and Alice Ora Harmon (Blackwood), Darryl was born July 9, 1939 in Konawa, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school, Darryl joined the United States Navy and honorably served his country for 18 months. He was stationed in Australia. On August 22, 1969, Darryl married his one true love, Shirley Ann Hudson, and together shared more than 55 years of marriage together. This union of marriage was blessed with one son, Michael Darren May. In addition to being a loving husband and devoted father, Darryl also served his fellow man as a firefighter. In March of 1968, he joined the City of Oklahoma City Fire Department and dedicated his life to the service of others in the community 27 years before his retirement in 1995. In his spare time, Darryl was an avid bowler and was very skilled and passionate about it. He had many 300 scored games throughout the years. But nothing was as important to Darryl as being with his family whom he loved with all of his heart. Darryl will be fondly remembered as a kind, hardworking, and loving man who always put the needs of others before himself. Darryl loved and cared deeply for his family and he will be held close to our hearts each day.
