Davee Denyse Powers Curry June 28, 1948 ~ March 29, 2015 Davee Denyse (Powers) Curry was born June 28, 1948 in Abilene, Texas the daughter of Steven D. and Davee Sue (Ratliff) Powers. She completed this life on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Oklahoma City at the age of 66. Denyse grew up in Abilene where she graduated from Cooper High School in 1966. She married Walter Stephen Curry on May 31, 1969 in Abilene, Texas. They moved to Oklahoma City where they made their home and raised their children. She and Steve were longtime members of New Covenant Christian Church. She was a member of chapter GH of P.E.O. sisterhood and the Republican Women's Club. A social butterfly by nature, Denyse had a deep love for her friends. She enjoyed entertaining at her home and was a wonderful cook and hostess. She was a great storyteller, and could start a conversation with practically anyone. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Steve; her son, Aaron Curry and his wife, Jolene of Edmond, OK; her daughters, Mandy Curry James and her husband Gary of Pauls Valley, OK and Stephanie Curry of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Jenna and Wyatt Curry and Lauren and Justyce James; her brother, Gordon Powers and his wife Anne of Abilene, TX; and her mother-in-law JoAnn Curry Schmidt of Abilene, TX. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lance Powers and her sister, Cara Jean Bull. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 3rd, at New Covenant Christian Church, 12000 N. Rockwell.
