IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Joe
Cossey
December 21, 1955 – June 25, 2025
David Cossey, 69, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. He passed peacefully at his home in Newcastle, Oklahoma with his family near his side.
David was born to Jack and Dorene Cossey on December 21, 1955 in Norman, Oklahoma. Welcoming David into the home were his siblings Larry, Gwen and Bonnie. Thereafter, David's family welcomed his youngest brother, Tim. David was a 1974 graduate from Norman High School.
On December 10, 1973, David received Jesus as his Savior at Symmes Street Holiness Church. Following his father's footsteps, David's love for the Lord and desire to serve the church cultivated his gift for singing and leading the church in worship.
That same year, David met the love of his life, Ramona Rich. On October 10, 1975, David and Ramona were married and welcomed two sons, Matthew and Joshua to their home. Working as a master craftsman, David owned and operated MJ Cabinet & Trim and Daystar Homes.
Later in life, David found his greatest gift and purpose as a papa to his "Magnificent Seven" grandchildren. Spending countless weekends cooking breakfasts, riding bikes, playing games and watching his seven in their activities was his absolute favorite way to spend his time.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorene Cossey; brother, Larry Cossey; sister, Gwen Toliver; brother, Tim Cossey and granddaughter, Avery Cossey.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona; son Matthew Cossey and wife Tamra; son, Joshua Cossey and wife Tiffany; sister Bonnie Keith and brother in law (who was more like a brother), Dickie Toliver; Seven special grandchildren; Emerson, Holsten, Addison, Noah, Wyatt, Harper and Nolan; as well as a host of cherished extended family and dear friends.
