Obituary

David Glen Peck

November 6, 1948 ~ December 7, 2025

David Glen Peck, 77, of Norman, OK went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Though our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice knowing that David is now in the presence of Christ Jesus, fully healed and fully whole.

David Glen Peck was born on November 6, 1948, in Duncan, OK to Billy Joel Peck and Marilyn Ruth McCalister-Peck. Throughout his life, David faithfully demonstrated the love of Christ to family, friends, and all who knew him. His life was marked by kindness, service, humility, gentleness, and integrity, reflecting a deep trust in God's grace.

David graduated from Duncan High School in 1968. After graduation, he served four years in the United States Air Force in Japan as a Morse code operator assigned to 6921 security group.

David loved children and after 41 years of faithful service with Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, David retired as the Assistant Administrator from the Baptist Children's Home, Oklahoma City, on December 31, 2014. He began his work with the ministry at Boys Ranch Town, in Edmond, when he was a college student at Oklahoma Baptist University. During college he was offered a full-time job at Boys Ranch Town, so he transferred to Central State University, graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. It was at Boys Ranch Town that he met Sherry Burton, his future wife. David moved to the original Children's Home in OKC in 1974 to become the Children's Supervisor. David helped open the campus in South Oklahoma City on Western Avenue in 1983.

Above all else, David believed in the saving work of Jesus Christ. He held firmly to the hope of the Gospel—that through Christ's death and resurrection, we are promised new life. Today, that hope is his reality, and for this we give thanks.

We rest in the assurance that this separation is only temporary and that we will be reunited in Christ.

David was preceded in death by his:

He is survived by his:
