David "Super Dave" Philpott was born November 27, 1956, in Ada, OK to Ernest "Ernie" Philpott and Lou Ellen Philpott (Guinn). David entered military service in the U.S. Air Force in 1974 and retired in 1997 with 22 years of service attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. David passed away at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City, on March 16, 2023, at the age of 66 following an all too short battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shelley Philpott (Rule), Cindy Philpott (Franks), his mother Lou Ellen Tippin (Guinn), his father Ernest Joe Philpott, and his stepfather Curtis Tippin.

He leaves behind his stepmother Pam Philpott of OKC, OK brother, Randy Philpott of Newcastle, OK his children, David and Dawn Philpott of Mangum, OK, Timmothy Philpott of Kansas City, MO, Samantha Philpott of Wichita, KS, and Joseph Philpott of Kansas City, MO, along with 8 grandchildren; Chandelle, David Austin and wife Kendra, Matthew and wife Hannah, Jasmyne, Danielle, Nathan, Damiana, and Damien Jr., and one great-grandchild, Raiden as well as many cousins and extended family all across the country.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Newcastle, OK on April 15th at 10:00am.
