W. 119th OKC Dennis Eugene Penix, lovingly known as Denny, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the age of 91. He was born November 26, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to his parents, Dennis Burl Penix and Velma Gertrude (Wilson) Penix. A World War II veteran, Dennis honorably served his country in the Merchant Marines. Shortly after his discharge from the service, Denny married the love of his life, Alberta Smith, on March 30, 1946 in Oklahoma City. Together they raised their family and shared more than 70 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his: Parents; Wife of 70 years, Alberta Penix & son in law Ronnie Zwirtz He is survived by his loving: Daughters: Denise Zwirtz and Shelley Kendrick; Son, Randy Penix and his wife, Kathy; 4 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Dorothy Sharp; Numerous extended loving family and friends.
