IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis Leon
Wells
December 14, 1951 – May 20, 2024
Dennis Wells, 72, of Oklahoma City, was surrounded by family when he passed away after a short yet difficult battle with cancer on May 20th 2024.
He was born on December 14, 1951, in Oklahoma City to Delno and Velma Fae Wells. Dennis and his sister, Janet, were raised in Southwest Oklahoma City. After graduating from U.S. Grant High School in 1970, Dennis enrolled at the University of Oklahoma where he successfully earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1976. During that time, he also served in the Air National Guard as a medic.
On December 28, 1972, at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church, Dennis married the love of his life, Beverly Trotter, the two were known for being inseparable. Dennis and Beverly were blessed with two charming daughters, Alicia, and Callie, and six beautiful grandchildren – Kayton, Laney, Colin, Deacon, Kamey and Gracelyn.
He was a devoted husband and an amazing father and Poppy. Dennis was a testament that faith, love, and compassion was of utmost importance when guiding a family through life.
Dennis was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He started multiple businesses including Dennis Wells Insurance Agency, Next Generation Child Care Center and Simplex Solutions.
Dennis and Beverly were highly active in their church. They were members at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church, Briarwood Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Moore, and for the last 15 years at Southern Hills Baptist Church. He has served as a deacon, a teacher for the young married couples' class, and a faithful member of his Sunday School class. He was a devout servant of the Lord.
He was an avid OU football and OU softball fanatic! He held football season tickets since the 1970's. He played softball for over 30 years from a young age through the men's church league. His favorite hobby was spending time with his family, whether attending a cheer competition for his daughters or a sporting event for grandchildren, which is where you would find him.
Through his personal life, work contacts and church affiliations, Dennis had many friends. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand, even when he had his hands full. He always had a big presence in the room. He was witty, funny, and a prankster.
He touched so many lives during his time on this earth. Everyone loved him. Although he has gone on to his heavenly home, his legacy will live on through the ones he leaves behind.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Delno and Velma Fae Wells, and his wife of 51 years, Beverly Wells.
He is survived by his daughters Alicia Nunez and her husband Javier; Callie Cardwell and her husband Brian; his grandchildren – Kayton Ross, Laney Ross, Colin Ross, Deacon Pritchard,
