Derrell Cates, 76 went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2015. He was born October 30, 1939 in Mount Pleasant, TX. Derrell graduated from US Grant H.S. and attended business school. He was in the grocery business for over fifty years. He was the owner of IGA stores in South OKC and Cates Discount Foods in Healdton, OK. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at Myrtle Lodge where he was awarded for fifty years of membership in April of 2014. His passion was to hunt. He loved being around people and never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by:

his parents, Sidney and Agnes Cates.

One brother Gene Cates, and one sister Loretta Fisher.

He is survived by:

his wife of 59 years, Margaret Cates.

One daughter Dianna Porter, husband Larry.

Three sons, Tim Cates, wife Linda, Gary Cates, wife Cindy, and Paul Cates, wife Michelle.

He has sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
