Obituary

Diane (Clark) Ayare, 67, of Oklahoma City passed away Thursday, October 16th, 2025 at Integris Baptist Medical Center.

Diane was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 9, 1958 to Don and Margie Clark. She was raised in Milford, Nebraska along with her brother Eldon. As a young girl, Diane enjoyed helping at the Dairy Sweet her parents owned. Some Dairy Sweet orders included ice cream cones dipped in chocolate. Occasionally the ice cream would fall off the cone into the chocolate; these "mistakes" were saved for Diane and Eldon to "clean up." In her teenage years, Diane enjoyed playing piano with her close friend Maxine. She also refurbished furniture with her parents. Diane graduated from Milford High School in 1976.

After high school, Diane began attending Bryan College of Health Sciences working toward a degree in nursing. During her college journey, her parents moved to Oklahoma City. Shortly after, she decided to follow them and continue her training at St. Anthony Hospital in Downtown Oklahoma City. After becoming a Registered Nurse she took a job at Baptist Medical Center. Her career at Baptist spanned over 44 years and she served in many different capacities over the years. Some days were harder than others, but she loved being a nurse and enjoyed her work. Diane retired in August of 2024, but still remained close with some of her coworkers. She made countless friends and lasting memories during her time as a nurse and will be missed by all of the lives she touched.

When Diane was not working she often spent time with her daughters Kimberly and Lori, loved on her animals, and enjoyed being outdoors. She always loved nature and admiring plants, flowers, and her favorite…roses. She especially liked going to the Myriad Botanical Gardens and taking her family out to the Watermelon Festival in Rush Springs. Another highlight for Diane was making the trip up to Kansas for family reunions. Diane also made some of the best memories with her friends Judy and Sharyn.

Diane had a servant's heart and was a caretaker to family, friends, and patients. She had a gentle way and knew just how to brighten someone's day with just a smile or kind words. She will be deeply missed by her family members and friends but she will never be forgotten.
