Dolores A. Frye, 84, gained her angels wings October 1, 2021. Dolores, daughter of Marvin P. and Sarah A. Heath was born December 20, 1936 in Cambridge, MD.
After high school graduation, Dolores journeyed to Denver, CO and worked at Gates Medical/Dental Clinic where she met and later married her one and only, William J. Frye, on February 21, 1959. Bill and Dolores resided full time in Littleton, CO until after Bill's retirement when they became winter snowbirds to Arizona. They were married for 42 wonderful years before Bill's passing in 2001. In 2003, Dolores moved to Oklahoma City to be close to family.
Dolores was a happy homemaker, dedicated mother of 2, and an adoring proud grandmother. She was very active in El Mejdel Temple No. 47, Daughter's of the Nile in Denver where she served as Queen in 1975 and was appointed as Supreme Attendant in 1985. She also lovingly supported Bill with his involvement in El Jebel Shrine Temple in Denver. Dolores loved gardening and won numerous awards for their beautiful roses. She also enjoyed crafting, most specifically making handmade cards for every holiday/occasion. Dolores's family and friends were the light of her life, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sassy attitude and gracious heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William J Frye; and sister-in-law, Patricia Heath. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca A. Frye; two grandchildren, Sterling and Valerie Dycus; her brother, Donald Heath; niece Erin Murphy, her husband Tim, and their children Anna and Colin.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of Norman Regional Hospital for their outstanding treatment and care of Dolores. Many thanks to all our friends and family who have expressed their love and thoughts during our difficult time.
