Don Alston Stover died on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born December 24, 1920 in Wanette, Oklahoma to Joe Alston and Lucille Carleen (Evans) Stover. Don graduated from Wanette High School in 1941 and entered the Army Air Corps. He served during World War II as a radio operator making many overseas missions. Following World War II, Don re-enlisted in the U.S Air Force, and served during the Korean Conflict. He joined the Oklahoma Air National Guard in 1952 and served as an Airborne Electronics Supervisor until his retirement 1980. While in the Air Guard he was a member of the original team on "The Talking Bird", the first airborne communication support plane. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling, and especially loved spending time with his family. As a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, his church family was an important part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his:
Parents;
Brothers: Hollis and Carl W. Stover.
He is survived by his loving:
Wife of 67 years, Virginia Lillian (Milligan) Stover;
Son, Don Stover, Jr. and his wife, Bobbi Stover;
Daughter, Sandrea and her husband, Robin Kisling;
Daughter, Candice and her husband, John Burks;
Daughter, Pamela and her husband, Tim Abram;
13 grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren;
Sister, Betty Cottrell;
Brother, Charles Stover;
Sister-in-law, Sylva Stover;
Numerous nieces and nephews.
