Donald (Don) Dewain Elkins, 85, went to be with Our Lord on December 5, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

The son of Joe and Lenora Elkins, Don was born May 10, 1939, in Clarksville, Arkansas.

After attending Arkansas Tech University, Don began his career as an educator teaching math in Beebe, Arkansas, and eventually became a principal. He moved to Oklahoma to become the President of the former Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College now known as Randall University. He then went on to work many years for Oklahoma City Public Schools where he served in various teaching and administrative roles. At one time, Don stated that he believed his most rewarding position was principal of The About Face Academy, an alternative school for middle school students.

In retirement Don was often seen at The Brand Senior Center in Moore as well as his beloved church, Shartel Church of God.

Don is preceded in death by his:

Parents Joe and Lenora;

Brother Reid Hollis Elkins.

He is survived by his:

Daughter, Donya Scott (Steven) and their children Connor and Carson;

Daughter, Dana Blackwell (Joe) and their children Blake and Shelby;

Nephew Steven Reid Elkins and family.
