Donald "Fred" Fox went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the age of 67. He was born June 11, 1945 in Wellington, Texas to his parents, Donald Frank and Melba Gene (Crowley) Fox. Fred married the love of his life, Audra Louise Shackelford on July 25, 1961. A longtime resident of Oklahoma, Fred and his family lived in many places across the state including Elk City, Hinton and Elmore City. While in Elmore City, Fred and Audra owned and operated Elmore Food Center until 1986 after their children graduated from high school. Later settling down in OKC/Norman, Fred provided a warm and loving home for his family by working as a personnel manager of Fox Lumber Supply for many years. Wishing to be a positive influence for his children and others, Fred enjoyed helping mentor and shaping the lives of youth by volunteering for the Jaycee's while in Elmore City and the Boys Scouts of America for many years. He worshipped at Brookwood Baptist Church with his family for the past 25 years. Fred loved life, people and above all the Lord with all of his heart. Fred not only has a heart for Christ, but Fred is now with Christ. Fred left a legacy for his wife, kids, parents, brothers, grandkids, nieces, nephews and many that were not members of the family. This is what we should live for. Fred lived a life with the emphasis of making an impact on the lives of others. Fred was a selfless man and tried to exemplify a Christ-like spirit and attitude in all that he did. We have been completely blessed by his presence in our lives and we are so thankful for his wonderful impact on our children. He was a loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
