Obituary

Donald Wayne Jackson, 88, of Oklahoma City, went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2024.

Don was born on Thursday, December 26, in Haywood, Oklahoma, and lived a life full of faith, love, and devotion to his family, his country, and his Savior.

A man of deep Christian faith and a longtime member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Don found strength in prayer and the Word of God. Don also had a profound love for his country. He devoted 23 years to the Air Force, proudly serving in Vietnam and later receiving a Bronze Star. Don graduated from Southeastern State University in Durant, Oklahoma, and later served as a hospital administrator for the Creek Nation in Okemah and Tishomingo.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Delena Jackson; his daughter, Debbie Jackson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Jackson; grandsons, Dan, Andrew, and Aaron Smith; granddaughters, Sarah and Kathryn Jackson; great-grandchildren, Weston Lewis, Avery, and Nathan Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Jackson; his father, Delbert Jackson; his mother, Lurline (Barnett) Jackson; and his siblings, Richard, Carolyn, and Robert.

The family extends their deepest heartfelt gratitude to Heartland Hospice and all the doctors and nurses who lovingly cared for Don in his final days.

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." - 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

— 2 Timothy 4:7-8
