IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Ralph
Jones
January 24, 1938 – October 12, 2022
Donald Ralph Jones- - -Child of God, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, mentor, prayer warrior, trusted friend and master fisherman met Jesus surrounded by family on October 12, 2022. He was 84 years old.
Don was born to Ralph and Roberta Jones on January 24, 1938 in Maud, Oklahoma. When Don was in 8th grade feeding the farm animals, his future wife, Junieal Louise Rutherford, sat on the fence watching. Junieal, in 6th grade at that time, knew she was going to marry that boy one day.
After graduating from Maud High School in 1956, Don started his life's journey in Aztec, New Mexico. Quickly realizing the oil and gas industry was not his life's calling, Don returned to Oklahoma in 1958 to marry the love of his life, Junieal.
Don and Junieal began their journey together in Okmulgee, OK where Don earned a Master Diesel Mechanic certification. Don's career spanned 59 years working at White Motor, Leeway Motor Freight and Moore Public Schools Transportation.
During their 64 years of marriage, they raised two children and devoted their family to religious and civic life. Don loved being camp hosts with Junieal in their RV. He knew all the best fishing spots so Junieal could cook a big fish fry. Don enjoyed eating, especially Junieal's food. Gardening, biking, running, reading, praying, going to church, traveling, dumpster diving, garage sales, helping anybody in need, talking about cars, fixing anything that was broken and spending time with family and friends were his joys.
Don has temporarily left his devoted wife, Junieal, his son, Mike Jones of Purcell, OK; his daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Michael Robins of Norman, OK; six granddaughters and one grandson; Michelle and David Brauckmann of Norman OK, Jenny and Cal Milliron of Norman, OK, Jordyn Jones of Blanchard, OK, Dustin and Meagan Jones of Oklahoma City, OK, Madison, Molly and Avery Robins of Norman, OK; 10 great grandchildren: Rylee, Braden, Karlee, Kamdyn, Parker, Stetson, Chloe, Emberly, Rowdy, and Rory (Leroy).
