March 8, 1929 ~ November 30, 2023

Donna Yvonne Godwin, fondly known as Yvonne by her family and friends, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the age of 94. The daughter of Lois (Shinn) and Haskell Pruett, Yvonne was born on March 8, 1929 in Reed, Oklahoma. Yvonne grew up attending White Flat schools. Yvonne graduated from Mangum High School where she was active in basketball. Yvonne met a handsome young man by the name of Clarence 'Sonny' Godwin and the two fell in love. They were united in holy matrimony on November16, 1947 in Mangum, OK. This union of marriage was blessed with two daughters, Donna and Debra. Being a wife and mother was natural for this hardworking woman. Yvonne worked at Tinker Air Force Base, where she worked in the supply department. Upon retirement, she volunteered 14 years at the Oklahoma Blood Institute. In her spare time nothing was as important to her as spending time with her family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. Yvonne enjoyed worshipping at Southern Hills Baptist Church where she was very active. She loved going to the lake for many years to fish and be with family. Yvonne will be remembered as a woman of strength and her faith in God. She will be deeply missed.
