A viewing and visitation will be from 4-8PM Monday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8PM. A celebration of life service for Donna will be held at 2:00 PM at the South Lakes Chapel of Vondel Smith & Sons Mortuary on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.

Donna Kay [Rycroft] Murray was born April 24, 1953 to Homer Rycroft and Dorothy [Hale] Rycroft in Oklahoma City, OK. She was raised and educated in Oklahoma City graduating from Southeast High School with the class of 1971. Donna married Doug Murray on June 18, 1971 and together they had two sons, Mike and Brad. She was actively involved in both her boys' lives being homeroom mom in both of their classes, and being their biggest supporter in all their activities.

Donna put her faith in Jesus as a young girl. She was very active at South Lindsay Baptist church for 26 years serving in a variety ways, including being the chair of night time WMU for many years. For the last 13 years she has been an active member of Emmaus Baptist Church.

Donna's creative ability was extraordinary. She was a very gifted artist sketching beautiful drawings in her younger years. Her ability as a designer and seamstress was second to none. She sewed her own dresses, some of her boys' clothes, and sewed various things for friends and others through the years. She worked in the creative arts department for Hobby Lobby for many years making beautiful displays. Her work was of such high quality that she was asked by Mrs. Green to do many things for them personally during her time at Hobby Lobby.

Donna enjoyed spending time at the lake, sewing and crafting, decorating for all holidays and events [especially Christmas], traveling, and most of all being with her kids, grand kids, and great-grand kids.

Donna left us unexpectedly early Thursday morning, February 8, 2024. She left us but we haven't lost her. We know where she is…in the presence of the Lord in heaven.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Fay Murray; and one niece, Chris Murray.

Donna is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Doug Murray; two sons, Mike Murray and wife, Jennifer of Tahlequah, OK, and Brad Murray of Yukon, OK; 6 grandchildren: Blake Murray and wife, Makenzi of Edmond, OK; Levi Murray of Phoenix, AZ; Jillian Murray of Tahlequah, OK; Ben, Neko, and Duke Murray of Oklahoma City, OK. Three great-grandsons: Maverick, Barrett, and Quinton Murray of Edmond, OK.
