Evans
February 17, 1943 – May 11, 2024
Donnie Ray Evans Sr went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at the age of 81.
He was born February 17th, 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma to Ulva and Myrtle Evans. Donnie was raised in Oil Center with his 3 brothers, Houston, Doyle and Jerry. Donnie graduated from Vanoss High school in 1961.
In 1965 Donnie went to serve in the National Guard for eleven years. He met the love of his life Bessie Anne Evans in 1969 and married two years later and were married for 53 years. In the mid 1970's Don went to work at Tinker Air Force Base as a sheet metal mechanic working on the B-52 Bomber and worked his way up to Unit Chief. He retired in 2007, and went back to work teaching and mentoring at Mid Del Technology Center.
Don spent a lot of his time coaching his sons and their friends in little league baseball, he enjoyed fishing, smoking ribs, and most importantly keeping a well-manicured lawn. He was a big Cubs fan and an avid OU fan as well.
Donnie was preceded in death by his youngest son, Johnnie Allen Evans.
Donnie was survived by his
Loving wife, Bessie Anne Evans;
Children: Donnie Evans and wife Ada, Ronnie Evans and wife Kristi;
Grandchildren: Taylor Honeysuckle and husband Shelby, Gage Evans and wife Ashlyn, Hunter Evans and girlfriend Grace;
And one great granddaughter, Eleanor.
