IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris Anne
Armstrong
September 2, 1933 – December 18, 2025
Doris "Anne" Armstrong of Oklahoma City passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, with family by her side. Her health declined rapidly following a fall in which she broke her leg.
She is lovingly survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Victoria; her grandsons, Daniel and Michael; and her great-grandsons, Alexander and Aaron, all of Oklahoma City. She will also be remembered with love by many friends and relatives, including her much-cherished nieces and nephews.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Ellen Adelle Nash Litton and James Daniel Litton, Sr., and by her brother, James Daniel Litton, of California.
Anne (who frequently asked not to be called Doris) was born on September 2, 1933, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She attended school in Frederick, and while in high school she met her soulmate, Lee Armstrong. Lee joined the United States Air Force as a teenager, and in December 1949, while home on leave, he found Anne at a high school football game. They eloped soon after, beginning a love story that lasted 70 years.
Anne embraced professional life, serving as personnel director and later as corporate secretary for the Oklahoma City Credit Bureau, retiring at age 65. Her greatest joy was traveling, with special trips to Mexico, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Poland, and Italy. She attended Southern Hills United Methodist Church in south Oklahoma City and was active in the Harmony Class until her health declined. Her family will always remember her love, warmth, and care — especially at this time of year, when she took great pleasure in making Christmas magical.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Suncrest Hospice Care, Legends at Council, and the Trauma Team at Baptist Integris Oklahoma City for their tender and compassionate care. We are forever grateful.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Vondel L. Smith & Sons Mortuaries in Oklahoma City. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder, Oklahoma.
