Doris Jean Stewart was born December 28, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma the daughter of Raymond Eugene and Rosamond Viola (Kensell) Lamb. She completed this life on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her home in Kingston, OK.
Doris was raised in Lawton where she developed lifelong friendships, particularly with her Hosawaki Group that reunites frequently to this day. She earned a masters degree in Education and taught in the Choctaw/Nicoma Park district for 32 years.
Doris married William Joseph Stewart on August 20, 1966 in Lawton. They moved to Oklahoma City where they raised their family. They were longtime members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where Doris loved participating and serving as United Methodist Women President for many years.
Doris and William greatly enjoyed their lake home on Lake Texoma, and moved there in 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Jeanna Stewart. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Stewart; her son, Eric Stewart; her daughter, Lori White and her husband Jeremy; her grandchildren, Amelia Stewart, Alexis Chaffee, Matthew Chaffee and Cole White; her sisters, Gloria Ervin and Maxine Nack and her husband Bud, along with other extended family.
Doris will always be remembered for her genuine kindness and her enduring example as a woman of faith.
A private family service will be held with inurnment in the St. Luke's Columbarium.
