Dorothy was born November 16, 1942 in Oklahoma City to Manford and Evy Lois Stewart. She was raised in South OKC and Moore along with her sisters, Carolyn and Barbara. In school she played clarinet in the band and made a lot of friends in the band, including the future love of her life, Don Liston.
Dorothy and Don married in 1958 and continued to stay in school. Dorothy graduated from Moore High School in 1960 and she and Don went on to start their family. They were blessed with three children, Dawnita, Dean and Dewayne. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved her family with her whole heart and as long as she was able, took care of their needs.
Dorothy and her family were longtime members at Antioch Christian Church. For the past 30 years, Dorothy and Don have been members at Southern Hills Baptist Church. They were both very active in their church and Sunday School Class.
Dorothy and Don enjoyed traveling together when her health allowed. They visited Nashville, Branson, Carlsbad, Las Vegas, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, as well as countless other sites across the map. They both made unforgettable memories together.
Dorothy loved to go shopping. She would go shopping with her friends on occasion, but Don was her most faithful shopping companion. Dorothy was an excellent cook and prepared meals for her family as well as numerous church meals. She had a servant’s heart and really enjoyed being able to help others.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy will live on through the lives she has touched.
