Dorothy Allene Vaughan was born in Canton, Illinois on April 14, 1922. She entered Heaven's gates on October 11, 2013 while at Integris Hospice House. The family gives them their greatest gratitude for the compassion and care given. Dorothy had an unwavering faith in God and the Vaughan family lost a powerful prayer warrior. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Lonie R. Vaughan. She was also predeceased by her daughter Vickie A. Gragg and her three brothers, Morris Barker, Harold Barker and James Barker. Dorothy is survived by her son James L. Vaughan and his wife Treva, son-in-law William Gragg, grandson Shannon Vaughan & wife Kristina, grandson Steve Gragg, great-grandchildren Blake Wooten, Dylan Wooten, Alyssa Vaughan, and Faith Vaughan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Vondel L. Smith and Son, 6934 S. Western, Oklahoma City. A graveside service will be held the following day on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th, Oklahoma City. Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10.
